Suggested Cocktail Party MenusThe amount and type of food you will require for a Cocktail Party will depend on a number of things. The time of year. People tend to eat more cold items in the warmer months and more hot items in the colder months. The time of day and duration of the event. If its straight after work and only goes for an hour then 5-6 items would be sufficient. If it starts at 6pm and is going to last for some hours then it will probably be dinner for your guests and as such you would need 10-12 items per person. The kitchen facilities that are available. if you don't have any heating facilities available at the function venue then you would require all cold items. If you have a small domestic oven available and you have a large function (100 people) then you would have to limit the amount of hot items you served as it may not be possible to heat the food quickly enough. It is a good idea to have enough cold items so they can be served while the hot food is being heated. Having some cold items also allows you to begin serving as soon as guests arrive as the food will already be plated up ready to serve. |
